Are you Queen or King of the Grill?

As I am putting together next week's menu (I hope even you tofu-phobes try the new delectable Crispy Sweet and Sour Tofu!), I wonder, are Scramblers getting tired of grilling or are they loving the recipes for the grill in the newsletter? During the warm months, especially in the late Spring, Summer and early Fall, I include a recipe for the grill in The Scramble nearly every week. While I often give alternative methods for cooking these recipes, I'd love your thoughts on whether there are too many grilling recipes, not enough, or about the right number.

Do you like to use the grill or does your spouse/partner prefer using it? Do you even have a grill that's in working order?

I'm burning for your feedback!

I'm happy to see the grilling options...as long as you continue to give an alternative method for cooking. Sometimes I just don't feel like getting elbow-deep in charcoal and it helps to have an oven/stovetop option.

We love the grill - anything to get the cooking heat out of the house in the summer! We have a grilltop vegetable tray, and will often adapt the side dish recipes for the grill, too. We would happily use it every night if it weren't for rain. We have a propane grill on the deck, so it's as easy to start as the stove.

I like the grill recipes, but it's best when there's an alternative indoor cooking method. Sometimes the grill just isn't practical timewise (takes an extra half-hour to heat the coals), and sometimes it rains! A while back, you featured a recipe for grilled halibut with a soy-maple glaze, and it was WONDERFUL. Keep them coming, just try to offer an alternative.

Your grill recipes are what finally made me learn how to use our grill. My husband is the griller in our family, but now I do it too. We have a gas grill, and it's quicker than cooking indoors b/c there's not as much clean-up. It's also nice because it doesn't heat up the inside of the house like the oven does, which is key on 90-degree days.

More grill options please! During the heat of the summer we don't like to use the oven at all and also stay away from the stove whenever possible. Before the Scramble, our regular summer dinner was some kind of protein on the grill with a side of grilled vegies - delicious for everyone. Even with the air conditioner running, the oven still heats up the house way too much. We also do everything we can to reduce our electricity requirements and that includes only running the air conditioner on really oppressive days. On those warm but tolerable days, using the oven for dinner makes sleeping in the upstairs bedrooms untolerable. So no-cook or grill options help tremendously.
